FIRST ALAN HALLIDAY EXHIBITION IN MONACO AT THE PALAIS DE LA SCALA

‘In the Wings’, oil on canvas, 114 x 146cms, 2015

Exhibition Dates: September 29 - October 1st, 2016

Camburn Fine Art held its first gallery exhibition in the Principality of Monte Carlo at the end of September. The exhibition was held in a private gallery in Central Monaco, in the La Scala Building, next to the Hermitage Hotel. Although the gallery has important clients in Monaco and on the Cote d’Azur, this was their first proper exhibition by a visiting artist. The event was well-attended by the existing collectors, but many keen, new clients were introduced to the gallery as well. We are glad to find that paintings by Alan Halliday are as popular in Monaco as they have been in London and around the world.

Whilst he was in Monaco for the opening of the exhibition, Alan Halliday was invited by the Monaco Embassy in London to attend Class and rehearsals for ‘A midsummer Night’s Dream’ with Les Ballets de Monte Carlo the week before their tour of China. Les Ballets de Monte Carlo is long-established ballet company dating back to the early twentieth century when Diaghilev brought his Russian dancers to perform in the West – including stars like Karsavina and Nijinsky- and later Colonel de Basil’s ballet company which presented the young Nureyev.
