These burn, shimmer, with light, beauty, movement, and (where relevant) the fluidity of water. Few artists do as much with the colour blue as you seem able to do, transmitting its ever-shifting range and depth. Looking at the larger set on the website I could almost imagine them as plates from some as-yet-unwritten, darkly sophisticated, Venice-set 'grown-up' fairytale or romance - a sort of Mediterranean Hans Andersen.
